MOONTON Games has dropped its biggest MLBB esports announcement yet. During the M7 World Championship Grand Finals, CEO Cloud Zhang unveiled the 2026 MLBB Esports Roadmap.
Turkey will host M8 World Championship Finals in January 2027—the first M Series outside Asia. MLBB debuts as a medal event at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan and headlines the inaugural Esports Nations Cup in Saudi Arabia. Add a new five-region competitive structure and record-breaking 5.68 million M7 viewers, and 2026 is MLBB’s biggest year yet .

M8 World Championship: Turkey 2027
The M8 World Championship will be held in Türkiye in January 2027, marking the first time an M Series World Championship is hosted outside Asia. This historic move represents a major expansion of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports into emerging competitive regions.
The tournament also introduces Thailand as the host of the M8 Wild Card event, which will be Thailand’s debut participation as an M Series tournament venue. According to Global Head of MLBB Esports Tiger Xu, hosting the championship in Türkiye reflects confidence in the growth of global MLBB esports markets and signals the organization’s commitment to developing competitive scenes in emerging regions.

Asian Games 2026 Debut
MLBB debuts as a medalled event at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan (mid-September to early October) .
Esports Nations Cup 2026
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the first officially confirmed title for the inaugural Esports Nations Cup (ENC) 2026, which will be hosted in Riyadh. The tournament is scheduled to run from November 23 to November 29, 2026, featuring 32 national teams competing for a total prize pool of $1.5 million USD.
Esports World Cup Return
MLBB returns to the 2026 Esports World Cup with:
- Mid Season Cup (MSC) – July/August 2026
- MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) – July/August 2026
- Combined Prize Pool: $3.5 million USD

Five-Region Competitive Overhaul
From 2026, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports will operate under a five-region competitive structure covering SEA, EEC, EMEA, EA, and AMER. The SEA region includes Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia. EEC represents CIS and Eastern European countries. The EMEA region combines Western Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and African markets, and the EA region includes China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The AMER region covers North America, Latin America, and Brazil, creating a more unified global competitive ecosystem.
A new Championship Tour will be introduced as an intercontinental tournament featuring teams from AMER, EA, and SEA regions. In addition, the MPL Malaysia Partnership Programme will launch with eight strategic partner teams receiving guaranteed participation slots.
